144 Edward Street brings together customised visual and material design to create a truly unique office space in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD. Spanning two entire floors, our extansive design, construction and project manageent experience was key in delivering this new, inspiring workspace in under five weeks.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Level 17, 144 Edward Street was designed as a display suite for the available tenancies in the building. The former AXA Australia Centre now owned by Precision Group is a high profile, high “B” Grade office tower comprising of basement parking, ground floor retail and foyer and 21 levels of office space. Located on the western fringe of the Golden Triangle within immediate reach of Brisbane’s major retail, dining & transport amenity.
To new owners of 144 Edward Street desired a workspace that would both inspire and provide a practical multi-disciplinary workspace for any team.
Our project management team oversaw everything from the scheduling of trades right down to inspections of finished works to ensure that quality was delivered. We worked very closely with the client to ensure a smooth fitout that met all of their requirements which included design work for foyer and bathroom areas, material selections and installation of in-house manufactured joinery.
Unlike modern office towers, the foyer of this building was limited in space and grandeur, hence the design team worked towards creating a feel and the illusion of entering a large area. In doing so, the grain and figure of the stone ran diagonally whilst maintaining grout lines in a north/south direction. At high level a mirrored façade to the bulkhead creates even more depth and space and coincides with the suspended architectural ceiling feature that mirrored internally to reflect more light and illusion.
